Book Summary
According to research conducted by Tom Bisset, some kids leave the Christian faith during their college years and “opt for intellectual honesty” presented in many institutions of higher learning. This book prepares youth with knowledge of God that will safeguard their faith in what can prove to be a faithless environment – the classroom. It also contains a small accumulation of information concerning a few academic theories and beliefs that badly contradict Biblical truth. It encourages youth to evaluate those theories and beliefs before adopting them into their belief system. This book encourages youth to gather all the knowledge they can for whatever profession they expect to enter into without excluding their faith in the process.
This book has a primary goal, which can be found in Colossians 2:8. It is to “see to it that no one takes [them] captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.” Its secondary goal can be found in II Corinthians 10:5, which is “...destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God…”
“James demonstrates that rare ability to communicate large quantities of biblical information in a creative and palatable manner.”
—Dr. Ron Cobb, Professor - Luther Rice University Atlanta, GA
“Today’s Christian youth are in dire need of guidance and direction. “The Other S.A.T.” challenges them to take a positive approach to life while directing them away from negative influences.”
—Bishop Miles Fowler, D.Div
Sr. Pastor - Big Miller Grove Baptist Church Atlanta, GA
“I thoroughly enjoyed your book. I believe it embodies the necessary Godly principals for this age group. Please keep us informed of your future ventures.”
